Storyline:
A young woman named Omasa, the daughter of a tavern keeper who helped Heizo in his youth, appears and asks to become an informant. When Heizo denies her request, Omasa learns that Heizo is searching for Sagihara Kuhei, who leads a double life as both a sweet potato liquor shop owner and a thief, and she decides to investigate on her own.
