Storyline:
The story revolves around two Bhujel brothers, Bhakta Bahadur and Batase. Bhakta Bahadur, portrayed by Maotse Gurung, earns his living by rowing a boat across Lake Begnas, while his younger brother Batase, played by Dayahang Rai, leads a more idle life in the city. When Batase requests his share of the family fortune, he specifically asks for the family boat, which is Bhakta’s only means of livelihood
.As the plot unfolds, Bhakta is compelled to relinquish the boat to Batase, leading to financial struggles for Bhakta. In an attempt to cope with this loss, he destroys a newly acquired boat owned by a local villager out of anger. Subsequently, he buys an old leaky boat with his savings but faces further complications when the owner of the destroyed boat reports him to the police.
The narrative takes a tragic turn when Bhakta’s wife, Manu (Menuka Pradhan), follows him on the leaky old boat despite his protests. The boat begins to sink, leading to a desperate attempt by both to reach safety. Unfortunately, Manu drowns during the incident, leaving Bhakta devastated. The film concludes with Batase witnessing his brother’s sorrow as he leaves home with their child on his back.
