Storyline:

Runway 34 is inspired by an aviation incident on a Jet Airways flight from Doha to Kochi in 2015. The film tells the turbulent tale of Captain Vikrant Khanna, played by Ajay Devgn, a flying prodigy whose flight takes a stirring and mysterious trajectory after take-off from an international destination. Consequently, it follows the tenacious Narayan Vedant, played by Amitabh Bachchan, in his pursuit to uncover the truth.

About Runway 34 Movie:

Runway 34 is a Hindi thriller film produced and directed by Ajay Devgn under the Ajay Devgn FFilms banner.

The film is inspired by the true event of Jet Airways, Doha to Kochi flight 9W 555, a Boeing 737-800 which had a narrow escape on August 18, 2015.

The film was originally titled Mayday. In November 2021, the title of the film was changed to Runway 34. The number “34” in the film’s title was chosen because that was Ajay’s age when his daughter Nysa was born.

The official announcement of the film was made on November 7, 2020, and principal photography began on December 11, 2020, in Hyderabad. The filming was wrapped on December 17, 2021. The airport sequences of the film were shot in Russia.

Ajay Devgn and Amitabh Bachchan reunited in this film after 9 years. Previously, they’ve worked in Major Saab, Hindustan Ki Kasam, Hum Kisi Se Kum Nahin, Khakee, Aag, Bol Bachchan & Satyagraha.

Runway 34 was released theatrically on April 29, 2022, by Panorama Studios. The film received mixed to positive reviews, but underperformed at the box office.

Runway 34 earned ₹16 crore at the domestic box office on its opening day. On the second day, the film collected ₹ 9 crore. On the third day, the film collected ₹9.50 crore.

It was released for digital streaming on Amazon Prime Video on June 24, 2022.
