Superman First Look: David Corenswet Suits Up at James Gunn’s Upcoming Reboot
In a highly anticipated reveal, director James Gunn has shared the first official image of actor David Corenswet donning the iconic Superman cape in his upcoming DC Universe (DCU) and a reboot of the Superman film series. The photo, posted on Gunn’s Instagram on May 6, 2023, shows Corenswet in a weathered blue suit with the classic “S” emblem over the chest, red boots, and a flowing red cape. The photo is also shared by Corenswet and Superman’s official page.
The image has sparked a heated debate among DC fans, with some praising the comic book inspiration, particularly the return of the red trunks and slight collar reminiscent of the New 52 comic book series. Others, however, have voiced their concerns over the divisive new suit design.
