Storyline:
More than 10 years after ‘Terminator 2’, John Connor now exists only as a drifter – living ‘off the grid’, so no more Terminators from the future can hunt him down. Unfortunately, SkyNet does send another one back – and this one is called the T-X, even more powerful & advanced than the dreaded T-1000. However, another CSM-101 Terminator is also sent back to protect John against the T-X. Now, Skynet is patiently assuming control of civilian computer systems, under the guise of a computer virus. John has also met his future wife, Kate Brewster, whose father – a U.S. Air Force General – is in charge of the military computer systems & is leery of up linking SkyNet. However, when the SkyNet virus infects the U.S military computers & leaves the country open to attack, the machines begin their horrific takeover. Soon a nuclear war will result – and the war against the machines will begin. Can the outdated CSM-101 Terminator eliminate the highly advanced T-X – or will a darker future await man following the nuclear attack?
About Movie:
Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines is a science fiction action film, the third installment in the Terminator franchise and a direct sequel to Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1991). Directed by Jonathan Mostow, the film stars Arnold Schwarzenegger, Nick Stahl, Claire Danes, and Kristanna Loken.
Although James Cameron, the creator of the franchise, showed initial interest in directing the third film, he eventually had no involvement in Terminator 3. Producers Andrew G. Vajna and Mario Kassar acquired the franchise rights following Carolco Pictures’ liquidation and negotiations with Gale Anne Hurd.
In 1999, Tedi Sarafian was hired to write the initial draft, and Mostow later joined as director in 2001, bringing in writers John Brancato and Michael Ferris to revise the script. The film had a massive $187 million budget, including a $30 million salary for Schwarzenegger and $5 million for Mostow.
Filming took place across California from April to September 2002, with special effects created by Industrial Light & Magic and Stan Winston’s team.
Terminator 3 premiered in Los Angeles on June 30, 2003, and was released in theaters on July 2, 2003, by Warner Bros. Pictures in North America, while Columbia Pictures handled much of the international distribution. The film received generally positive reviews, grossing $433.4 million worldwide, and ended as the seventh-highest-grossing film of 2003. A sequel, Terminator Salvation, was released in 2009.
