The group teams up to try to destroy the REV-9.
About Movie:
Terminator: Dark Fate is an American science fiction action film and the sixth installment in the Terminator franchise. Serving as a direct sequel to The Terminator (1984) and Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1991), it disregards the events of Rise of the Machines (2003), Terminator Salvation (2009), and Terminator Genisys (2015).
Directed by Tim Miller and written by David S. Goyer, Justin Rhodes, and Billy Ray, the film is based on a story by James Cameron, Charles H. Eglee, Josh Friedman, Goyer, and Rhodes. It stars Linda Hamilton and Arnold Schwarzenegger reprising their iconic roles as Sarah Connor and the T-800 Terminator, respectively. The cast also features Mackenzie Davis, Natalia Reyes, Gabriel Luna, and Diego Boneta as new characters.
Set 25 years after the events of Terminator 2, the plot follows an advanced Terminator (Luna) sent back to 2020 to eliminate Dani Ramos (Reyes), whose future plays a pivotal role. To protect her, the Resistance sends Grace (Davis), an augmented soldier, who teams up with Sarah Connor and Skynet’s T-800.
Production, initially slated to start in March 2018, was delayed due to casting issues. Filming began in Spain on June 4, 2018, under the working title Terminator 6: Phoenix, before moving to Hungary, the U.S., and Mexico, concluding in November 2018.
Throughout production, James Cameron made continuous adjustments to the script, often delivering changes to Tim Miller the day before filming. Linda Hamilton and Arnold Schwarzenegger both contributed to shaping their characters, with Hamilton rejecting some actions and dialogue she felt were uncharacteristic of Sarah Connor, and Schwarzenegger modifying his own lines. Cameron, occupied with his Avatar sequels, did not visit the set, choosing to avoid interfering with Miller’s direction.
Distributed by Paramount Pictures in North America and Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures internationally, Terminator: Dark Fate was released on November 1, 2019. While it received mixed reviews, with many viewing it as an improvement over previous installments, it grossed $261.1 million worldwide. However, due to its high production costs, the film lost $122.6 million, making it one of the biggest box-office failures in history.
