About Movie:
The King’s Man is a spy action film directed by Matthew Vaughn, who co-wrote the screenplay with Karl Gajdusek. It serves as the third installment in the Kingsman series and is a prequel to Kingsman: The Secret Service (2014) and Kingsman: The Golden Circle (2017). The film explores the origins of the Kingsman spy agency in the early 1900s.
The ensemble cast features Ralph Fiennes, Gemma Arterton, Rhys Ifans, Matthew Goode, Tom Hollander, Harris Dickinson, Daniel Brühl, Djimon Hounsou, and Charles Dance. Vaughn, also an executive producer, announced the film in June 2018, originally titled Kingsman: The Great Game.
Principal photography began on January 22, 2019, in the UK, with additional scenes shot in Piedmont, Italy, including locations in Turin, Venaria Reale, Nichelino, and Racconigi. Cinematographer Ben Davis left the project during reshoots due to his commitments to Eternals.
The film was released in the US on December 22, 2021, and in the UK on December 26, 2021, by 20th Century Studios, following multiple delays due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It received mixed reviews from critics and grossed $126 million against a nearly $100 million budget, making it a box-office disappointment. A direct sequel, The King’s Man: The Traitor King, is currently in development.
