Storyline:
The film follows a married couple who, after receiving a dire health diagnosis and facing legal troubles that leave them homeless, decide to embark on the 630-mile (1,010 km) South West Coast Path. This path, the longest uninterrupted trail in England, takes them from Minehead to Poole, meandering along the coasts of Devon, Cornwall, and Dorset.

The Salt Path marks Marianne Elliott’s feature directorial debut, with a screenplay adapted by Rebecca Lenkiewicz. The film is based on the memoir The Salt Path by Raynor Winn.
Filming for The Salt Path occurred in Chepstow, Monmouthshire, and Aust, Gloucestershire, in June 2023, with additional scenes shot at East Head in West Wittering. Principal photography began in Somerset in July 2023, including locations such as Minehead and Hartland Quay in Devon.
The Salt Path premiered as part of the Special Presentations lineup at the 2024 Toronto International Film Festival on September 6, 2024.
