Storyline:
When a bounty hunter and a band of unlikely heroes pursue a brutal killer, they find themselves in a deadly no-man’s-land known as The Thicket.
About The Thicket Movie:
The Thicket is an American Western crime film, based on the 2013 western novel of the same name by Joe Lansdale, which was adapted by playwright Chris Kelley. Directed by Elliott Lester, the film stars Peter Dinklage, Juliette Lewis, Esmé Creed-Miles, Levon Hawke, Macon Blair, Andrew Schulz, and James Hetfield.
The film began pre-production in February 2020 but was impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Principal photography started in Calgary, Canada on March 1, 2023, and wrapped on March 30, 2023.
The Thicket was released theatrically in the United States by Samuel Goldwyn Films on September 6, 2024. Additionally, it made its French debut at the 2024 Deauville American Film Festival during the week of September 8.
Tubi acquired the United States and Canada rights when it joined as a co-financier, while The Exchange handles international distribution.
