Storyline:
Sequel to Thupparivaalan (2017). Follows Kaniyan Pongundran, a detective who works with his partner Mano to solve cases.
About Movie:
Thupparivaalan 2 is an upcoming Tamil spy thriller, written and directed by Vishal. It serves as a sequel to the 2017 film Thupparivaalan, with Vishal and Prasanna reprising their roles. The cast also includes Rahman, Nassar, Jayaprakash, Gautami, and Suresh Chakravarthi. The music for the film is composed by Ilaiyaraaja.
Announced in 2019, principal photography began in November 2019 in Bristol and wrapped up its first schedule a month later. However, due to budget disagreements between Mysskin and Vishal, Vishal took over as the director, and filming resumed in November 2020. Though the project faced delays, with no shooting taking place in 2023, Vishal announced plans to revive the film in 2024. Pre-production began in March 2024, and principal photography is expected to start in May 2024.
