About Movie:
Veeramae Vaagai Soodum is a Tamil action thriller film written and directed by Thu Pa Saravanan. Produced by Vishal and Dato Abdul Malik under the banners Vishal Film Factory and Malik Streams Corporation, the film stars Vishal and Dimple Hayathi, with supporting roles by Raveena Ravi, Baburaj, and Yogi Babu. The music for the film, including the soundtrack and background score, was composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja, while Kavin Raj handled the cinematography and N. B. Srikanth edited the film. Notably, it marks the posthumous appearance of actor-director R. N. R. Manohar, who passed away on November 17, 2021, due to COVID-19 complications.
Initially titled Vishal 31, the film’s official title, Veeramae Vaagai Soodum, was announced on August 29, 2021, drawing inspiration from a lyric in the title track of the 1986 film Vikram, composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja’s father, Ilaiyaraaja.
Principal photography began on May 6, 2021, and concluded on January 3, 2022. The film was dubbed in Hindi, Telugu (Saamanyudu), and Kannada (Obba) and was released on February 4, 2022. Veeramae Vaagai Soodum received mixed reviews, with praise for its action sequences, Vishal’s performance, and the background score, though it was criticized for predictability and weak character development.
