‘Chandu Champion’ Trailer: Kartik Aaryan’s Stellar Transformation
In a riveting revelation, the much-awaited trailer of Kartik Aaryan’s latest project, ‘Chandu Champion‘, has been unleashed. Directed by the acclaimed Kabir Khan, the film delves into the inspiring journey of Chandu, portrayed by Aaryan, as he navigates personal struggles and physical challenges to emerge as a true champion.
The trailer offers a poignant glimpse into Chandu’s transformative odyssey, from a young dreamer in Gwalior to a resilient soldier, boxer, and survivor. Kartik Aaryan’s portrayal of the multifaceted character has left viewers spellbound, especially with his fierce new look and unwavering determination to overcome adversity.
Inspired by the real-life story of India’s first Paralympic gold medalist, Murlikant Petkar, “Chandu Champion”. Petkar won the gold medal at the 1970 Commonwealth Games and bagged another gold medal at the 1972 Paralympics in Germany. The film promises a cinematic experience that celebrates perseverance, resilience, and the indomitable human spirit. As Chandu’s journey unfolds on screen, audiences are taken on an emotional rollercoaster, witnessing his unwavering resolve to challenge stereotypes, conquer obstacles, and emerge victorious against all odds.
In an Instagram post, Kartik Aaryan captioned, “With immense pride and joy, I’m sharing the trailer of my career’s toughest and most special film, ‘Chandu Champion.’ Releasing this from my hometown Gwalior, where I dreamt of becoming an actor, makes it even more special. This is the story of a man who refused to surrender. I hope it touches your heart, entertains, and inspires you to achieve your goals, just like India’s pride, Mr. Murlikant Petkar.”
It also stars Bhuvan Arora, Yashpal Sharma, Rajpal Yadav, Vijay Raaz, Palak Lalwani, Adonis Kapsalis, and Hemangi Kavi. Produced by Sajid Nadiadwala under the banner of Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment and Kabir Khan Films. Cinematography was handled by Sudeep Chatterjee, editing was done by Nitin Baid, and music was composed by Pritam and the background score was by Julius Packiam.
Principal photography began on July 12, 2023, with a Muhurta puja ceremony in London, where the first schedule was also completed. Filming wrapped up after eight months on January 31, 2024. A particularly challenging 8-minute single-shot war sequence was filmed in Aru Valley, Jammu, at an altitude of 9,000 feet above sea level.
Chandu Champion is scheduled to be theatrically released on 14 June 2024.
