Hari Hara Veera Mallu
Hari Hara Veera Mallu is an upcoming period action-adventure drama film written and directed by Krish Jagarlamudi. The film is set in the 17th-century Mughal Empire. It stars Pawan Kalyan as Veera Mallu alongside Bobby Deol, Nidhi Agerwal, Nora Fatehi, and Vikramjeet Virk. In September 2019, A. M. Rathnam approached the politically active Pawan Kalyan for a Krish Jagarlamudi-directed film. By November, Kalyan agreed in principle to a period film where he’d play a thief after a January 2020 look test. Launched the same month in Hyderabad and tentatively named PSPK 27, it marks Kalyan’s 27th lead role. In March 2021, the film’s title was confirmed as Hari Hara Veera Mallu.
The film was initially set to feature Arjun Rampal as Mughal emperor Aurangzeb. However, due to other commitments and COVID-19-related delays, Rampal exited the project, and Bobby Deol was cast in his place. The film began its production in September 2020 with filming taking place primarily in Hyderabad. The filming and release of the film have been delayed and postponed multiple times owing to the COVID-19 pandemic and Kalyan’s political commitments.
Initially set for a Sankranti release on January 14, 2022, Hari Hara Veera Mallu was rescheduled to April 29, 2022, but further postponed due to pandemic-related delays and Pawan Kalyan’s political commitments. A tentative release date of March 30, 2023, was announced in August 2022 but was delayed again due to Kalyan’s ongoing political commitments. The film is planned to be released in Telugu along with dubbed versions in Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada.
