Surakshya Panta (Nepali language: सुरक्षा पन्त) is a Nepalese actress, model, and engineering student who works in the Nepali film industry. Surakshya debuted as an actress from the movie “Ajhai Pani” (2015) in a supporting role. She rose to fame after her role in Dhanapati. Since then, she has worked in critically acclaimed films like Gopi, Aama, and Ghar.
Surakshya Panta won NEFTA Film Award 2075 for Best Female Actor in a supporting role and the National Film Award 2076 for Best Female Actor in a leading role.

Surakshya Panta Early Life, Education, and Family (Father/Mother/Brother/Sister):
Surakshya Panta was born on February 20, 1989 in Butwal, Nepal. She completed her schooling in her home town and later she moved to Kathmandu of pursuing a bachelor’s degree in engineering. Her journey as an actress began as soon as she graduated as a civil engineer.

Surakshya Panta Career:
Initially, Surakshya Panta participated in Image Televisions’s VJ hunt competition program in 2013, where she had selected in the top 3. At that time she was studying in the third year of engineering. She was confused about whether to do full-time television or to go into engineering. She did decide to continue engineering and completed her degree.
Surakshya Panta made her acting debut with the late Alok Nembang’s last film Ajhai Pani (2015) where she played the role of Shaili in the supporting role alongside Sudarshan Thapa and Pooja Sharma. The film was average at the box office and the film received mostly positive feedback from the audience however Panta’s role went unnoticed.
Later after nearly two years, she appeared in Dipendra K Khanal’s Dhanapati (2017) film where she appeared in the lead role portraying the role of Dhanapati’s wife. Upon release, the film became one of the blockbuster films in Nepal. Her role in Dhanapati received highly positive feedback from the Nepalese audience and critics.
After her blockbuster film Dhanapati, she appeared in Bhaire (2018), Romeo & Muna (2018), Changa Chet (2018), Gopi (2019), and many other films.
Surakshya Panta at Cannes Film Festival:
Surakshya Panta has become the first Nepali actress to walk on the red carpet of The Cannes Film Festival. She went to France to attend the premiere of the 2022 Italian-language drama film, “The Eight Mountains” directed by Felix van Groeningen and Charlotte Vandermeersch. The film was shot in the Italian Alps, Turin, and Nepal over seven months. This year’s Cannes Festival is being held in France from May 17 to 28. This is the first foreign film she has acted in.
Surakshya Panta shared her experience of walking the red carpet on social media, saying,
“Walk to the red carpet was like a surreal moment. Getting the opportunity to witness one of the biggest ambiances of celebration for film and storytellers is something I will cherish throughout my life. It feels like a flicker.”
