Storyline:

The film follows the first love and friendships of a high school student. Bo-Ra is a 17-year-old high school student. She is good at taekwondo and has a bright and positive personality. She is also a member of the broadcasting club at her school. Woon-Ho is a member of the same broadcasting club. Bo-Ra is best friends with Yeon-Du , who attends the same school. Yeon-Du has a crush on Hyun-Jin. She asks Bo-Ra to find out everything about Hyun-Jin and goes to the U.S. to have heart surgery. After that, Bo-Ra begins to observe Hyun-Jin closely and she falls in love with him.

• 20th Century Girl is directed by Bang Woo-ri in her feature film debut.
• Director Bang Woo-ri wrote the script based on her personal experience of exchanging diaries with her friend. The film is set in Cheongju, the director’s hometown.
• Filming took place in Cheongju, North Chungcheong Province from October 2021 to January 2022.
• The film was invited to the 27th Busan International Film Festival and premiered at the ‘Korean Cinema Today – Special Premiere’ section on October 6, 2022.
• A day later after its release, 20th Century Girl ranked 7th globally in Netflix’s movie category. Subsequently, on 24 October, it ranked 5th in the same category.
