Storyline:

Anweshippin Kandethum uncovers into the intricate web of two seemingly unrelated murder cases investigated by the seasoned SI Anand and his team. The movie begins with Anand’s return to duty after a suspension, only to be thrust into the heart of a complex mystery.

Flashbacks reveal Anand’s journey into the police force, guided by his retired police officer father Narayana Pillai. His first case involves the disappearance of a Christian girl, Lovely Mathan. Upon investigating, he finds clues about her presence in a nearby monastery but gets resisted by the locals and the local police, leading to the removal from the investigation. With the help of the forensic experts and S.P Rajagopal, he manages to complete the investigation and nab the culprit on time, even unearthing a shocking revelation of familial betrayal and forbidden love. Despite solving the case, the accused escaped from their custody and commits suicide, leaving Anand and his team suspended for their oversight and negligence.

Recalled to duty, Anand is tasked with unraveling a cold case that has haunted the department for years: the murder of a young woman Sridevi. As the investigation intensifies, dark secrets and buried resentments surface, ultimately exposing a retired police constable Raveendran Nair as the perpetrator, driven by a twisted sense of justice and personal vendetta. However, before justice can be served, Nair hangs himself to death.

Despite bringing closure to both cases, Anand finds himself grappling with the weight of unresolved justice, unable to apprehend the masterminds behind the crimes.

The film features Tovino Thomas in the lead role. Actors Indrans, Siddique, Shammi Thilakan, Sadiq, Azees Nedumangad, and Baburaj played other important characters in the movie.

Anweshippin Kandethum was theatrically released on 9 February 2024. The film received acclaim from critics and audiences, who praised the performances of the cast, the story, soundtrack, direction, art and set design. It became a commercial success, and grossed over ₹40 crore against a budget of ₹8 crore.
