About Argylle Movie:

Argylle is a spy action comedy film directed and produced by Matthew Vaughn, and starring Henry Cavill, Bryce Dallas Howard, Sam Rockwell, Bryan Cranston, Catherine O’Hara, Dua Lipa, Ariana DeBose, John Cena, and Samuel L. Jackson.

Argylle is named after the argyle diamond design that originated in Scotland.

The film was announced in June 2021. In August 2021, Apple TV+ bought the rights to the film for $200 million.

Principal photography on the film began in August 2021 in London with cinematographer George Richmond. The film took place across various locations in Europe. The production used studios in Greenford, Park Royal, and Bovingdon to shoot the film. Background shots were filmed in Greece and the United States.

The film marks the second collaboration between Matthew Vaughn and Henry Cavill. Their first time working together since Stardust (2007).

This is the second time John Cena and Dua Lipa worked together. They previously portrayed Mermaid Barbie and Mermaid Ken in Barbie.

Argylle was theatrically released in the United States on February 2, 2024, by Universal Pictures and Apple Original Films, before releasing on Apple TV+ at an undetermined date.

In July 2021, it was announced that Argylle was intended to serve as a trilogy of films. In March 2022, it was confirmed that the first film would be followed by two sequels to complete a film trilogy. In October 2023, Vaughn confirmed plans to create additional movies, while stating that the second film would be a prequel, as “the first Argylle novel”, exploring the origins of Argylle becoming a spy; while the third movie would follow additional installments. On the film’s release, its mid-credits scene, after displaying a younger Argylle (portrayed by Louis Partridge) being recruited by Kingsman, displays a note onscreen stating that “‘Argylle: The First Book’ will be coming to screens soon”.
