About Ayalaan Movie

  • Ayalaan is a Tamil science fiction action adventure film written and directed by R. Ravikumar, and starring Sivakarthikeyan, Rakul Preet Singh, Sharad Kelkar, and Isha Koppikar.
  • The film was announced in October 2016. Principal photography took place from June 2018 to January 2021, with a few reshoots in November 2022. It was predominantly shot in Chennai.
  • The makers announced the film’s title as Ayalaan on 3 February 2020.
  • The film marks R. Ravikumar’s second directorial after Indru Netru Naalai (2015).
  • On 15 January 2018, it was announced that A. R. Rahman will compose music for the film, in his maiden collaboration with Sivakarthikeyan. Sivakarthikeyan described it as a “dream come true” moment, to associate with Rahman for the first time.
  • In January 2021, it was reported that the makers needed more than 10 months to complete the visual effects, and the makers spent more than ₹40 crore on them. The film has over 4500 visual effects shots, the most for an Indian film.
  • Ayalaan is scheduled to be released in January 2024, during Pongal. The film’s broadcast rights were sold to Sun TV.
