    • Filming ended on July 18 in Puerto Rico.

    • The film was originally set to be released on HBO Max but it was later changed for theaters.

    • The film’s working title was Mofongo.

    • The film is set in the fictional Palmera City, which was an original creation for the film, rather than El Paso as is featured in the comics.

    • Sharon Stone was originally set to play Victoria Kord, but she dropped out and was replaced with Susan Sarandon.

    • The first trailer for the film was released on April 3, 2023, revealing that the film will take place in Palmera City, a new location created for the film.

    • Xolo Maridueña is the fifth Latino actor to join the DC Extended Universe after Latina actresses Rosie Perez (Puerto Rican) in Birds of Prey (2020).
    • Blue Beetle was theatrically released in the United States on August 18, 2023. A screening of the film was held at El Paso, Texas on August 15, 2023. Due to the ongoing 2023 SAG-AFTRA strike, the cast of the film did not attend the premiere at the TCL Chinese Theatre on August 15, with director Ángel Manuel Soto praising the cast as “heroes”. The film received generally positive reviews from critics, who praised Maridueña’s performance.
    • Blue Beetle was released on digital download on September 26, 2023, and on Ultra HD Blu-ray, Blu-ray, and DVD on October 31, by Warner Bros. Home Entertainment.
