Deception Movie (2021):
Deception (French: Tromperie) is a French drama film, directed by Arnaud Desplechin and co-written with Julie Peyr. Produced by Pascal Caucheteux under the banner Why Not Productions, Canal+, and Cine+. It is based on the novel of the same name by Philip Roth.
It stars Denis Podalydès, Léa Seydoux, Anouk Grinberg, Emmanuelle Devos, Rebecca Marder and Madalina Constantin. It had its world premiere at the Cannes Film Festival on 13 July 2021. It was released on 8 December 2021, by Le Pacte.

Synopsis
An American novelist living for a time in London converses with his wife, his mistress, and other female characters he may have dreamed up.

Un écrivain américain séjourne à Londres dans les années 80. Il rencontre, principalement dans son bureau, une amante anglaise. Puis vient le temps de la séparation. Il discute aussi, entre autres, avec d’anciennes amantes. Il utilise, comme il a l’habitude de le faire, le contenu des discussions pour nourrir son nouveau roman. Son épouse lui reproche sa relation extraconjugale. Lui essaye d’expliquer que les personnes qu’il met dans son roman ne sont que le fruit de son imagination romanesque, et il revendique une liberté créatrice totale.
