- Don 3: The Final Chapter is the third installment in the Don reboot series and a sequel to Don (2006) and Don 2 (2011).
- In August 2014, it was reported that Farhan Akhtar planned to play a role in the film. In October 2015, Akhtar said that Don 3 will go on floors by late 2016. However, the film is at the scripting stage.
- Initially, Farhan Akthar wanted Don of all three generations to be part of the film. Amitabh Bachchan from the original film (1978).Shahrukh Khan from its remake in Don (2006) and Don 2 The chase Beings (2011).And Ranveer Singh as the new Don. But Shahrukh Khan decided not to be part of the film. Hence the idea was dropped.
- Ranveer Singh replaces Shahrukh Khan in the series.
- It has also been reported that Katrina Kaif will replace Priyanka Chopra in the next installment. But the makers denied this, stating that the only constant in the third installment will be dependent on Don, the rest of the characters, and the script.
- In May 2023, news articles reported that Farhan Akhtar was finishing the script for Don 3.
- The 3rd installment, a reboot was officially announced in August 2023 by Farhan Akhtar & his production company Excel Entertainment.
