Storyline:
Senapathy is an ex-freedom fighter turned vigilante who fights against corruption. In this sequel to the 1996 film, Indin, Senapathy returns to India from Hong Kong to aid a young man who has been exposing corrupt politicians in the country through videos on the internet.

About Indian 2 Movie:
Indian 2 is a Tamil vigilante action film directed by S. Shankar, who co-wrote the screenplay with B. Jeyamohan, Kabilan Vairamuthu, and Lakshmi Saravana Kumar. It is jointly produced by Subaskaran Allirajah’s Lyca Productions and Udhayanidhi Stalin’s Red Giant Movies.
The sequel to Indian (1996), Kamal Haasan reprises his role as Senapathy, an ageing freedom fighter turned vigilante who fights against corruption and comprises of an ensemble supporting cast including S. J. Suryah, Kajal Aggarwal, Siddharth, Rakul Preet Singh, Nedumudi Venu, Vivek, Kalidas Jayaram, Gulshan Grover, Samuthirakani, Bobby Simha, Brahmanandam, Zakir Hussain, Piyush Mishra, Guru Somasundaram, Delhi Ganesh, Jayaprakash, Manobala, and Ashwini Thangaraj .
Indian 2 was officially announced in September 2017; principal photography began in January 2019 and took place in Chennai, Rajahmundry, Bhopal and Gwalior. In February 2020, following an accident that killed some crew members, production was suspended owing to numerous factors, including legal issues surrounding the accident and the COVID-19 pandemic before resuming in August 2022, with Red Giant Movies joining as co-producers.
It was further shot in Tirupati, Chennai and Vijayawada, while a few sequences were filmed at Johannesburg and Taiwan. Filming wrapped by March 2024. The technical crew comprised of Anirudh Ravichander, Ravi Varman, R. Rathnavelu,[a] A. Sreekar Prasad, T. Muthuraj and V. Srinivas Mohan, as the musician, cinematographer, editor, production designer and visual effects supervisor, respectively.
In April 2023, Udhayanidhi Stalin announced that the film is being planned for a theatrical release during summer (April–June 2024), as the film featured extensive visual effects and needed to be completed by the end of 2023. On 6 April 2024, the producers officially announced that the film would have a worldwide theatrical release in June 2024. However, it again got delayed and theatrically released on 12 July 2024.
In July 2023, it was announced that the film’s digital streaming rights were purchased by Netflix for a price of ₹200 crore (US$25 million). The satellite rights were acquired by Kalaignar TV.
