Storyline:
Inspired by many real-life incidents, the film is set in the rural socio-political environment of North Malabar. The central characters and their friends engage in a personal and petty squabble with the members of another youth organization which leads to a public brawl. What happens from there is the rest of the movie.
About Kotthu Movie:
Principal photography of the film began on 10 October 2020 at Kozhikode following the COVID-19 protocols and safety measures.
The film marks the comeback of Sibi Malayil after 7 years.
Kotthu is actor Asif Ali’s fourth collaboration with director Sibi Malayil after Apoorvaragam (2010), Violin (2011) and Unnam (2012).
Kotthu was released in theatres on 16 September 2022. The film received mixed reviews but became a box office failure.
