- It serves as a sequel to the 2014 reboot Left Behind, which itself is based on the 1995 novel of the same name written by Tim LaHaye and Jerry B. Jenkins.

- The first draft of the script was completed in 2017. Before filming began in 2021, there were significant rewrites in order for the story to better reflect then-current events.

- Principal photography took place in Calgary, Alberta for 19 days in late fall 2021.

- The full budget of the movie is less than 3.5 million dollars which was Nicolas Cage’s salary for Left Behind (2014)

- Following Left Behind (2014), Chad Michael Murray, Cassi Thomson and Nicky Whelen were under contract to reprise their roles for two sequels. However due to the length of time between projects as well as scheduling conflicts, Rise of the Antichrist ended up with a complete recast.

- This is the sixth Left Behind movie, after the original trilogy, the 2014 reboot, and the 2016 spinoff.

- The character of Conner was originally intended to be a very minor role. However, the producers were so impressed with Braeden Sorbo’s performance that extra scenes were written for him.

- In April 2015, Paul LaLonde launched an Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign, asking for $500,000 in contributions.

- In July 2017, LaLonde announced on the film’s Facebook page that he has purchased the rights to all 16 books of the series. He explained that he had been “handcuffed” to the first two books in the series and will now be able to finally tell the story with a plan for a series of 7 films covering the books in their entirety.

- Left Behind: Rise of the Antichrist was released on January 26, 2023. It was released on Blu-ray and DVD on March 21, 2023.
