
Let It Be Morning Movie (2021):
Let It Be Morning is a Palestinian drama film written and directed by Eran Kolirin. The film stars Alex Bakri, Juna Suleiman, Salim Daw, Ehab Salami, Khalifa Natour, Samer Bisharat and Yara Elham Jarrar. The cast is predominately Palestinian and most of the language is Arabic. It is based on the Hebrew-language 2005 novel Let It Be Morning by Palestinian author Sayed Kashua.
In June 2021, the film was selected to compete in the Un Certain Regard section at the 2021 Cannes Film Festival. The Palestinian cast opposed the classification of the film as “Israeli,” and withdrew from the Cannes Film Festival in protest. Israel selected the film as its entry for the Best International Feature Film at the 94th Academy Awards.

Sami (Alex Bakri) thought he found his place in life, but then, without any conceivable reason, the Arab village where he grew up is suddenly surrounded by an ominous wall. Now he is forced to deal with questions of identity and national belonging. A bitter-sweet comedy about a state of siege, both internal and external, and about a man who built a wall around his heart, and how that walls starts coming apart when another, more real wall is built around the village where he was born.
