Storyline

Dilan (Iqbaal Ramadhan), the combat commander of a motorcycle gang in Bandung in the early 90s, formed a relationship with a new female student from Jakarta named Milea (Vanesha Prescilla). Dilan was always happy when he was with Milea, but his motorcycle gang friends feel that Dilan was getting away from his group because of Milea. A terrible event happened: one of their members, Akew (Gusti Rayhan), died of being beaten by a group of people. The incident made Milea worried about the safety of Dilan. Milea made the decision to part with Dilan as a warning for Dilan to stay away from the motorcycle gang. The Akew incident dragged Dilan to the authorities along with his friends. The parting which had been only a bluff for Milea became a parting that lasted until they graduated from college and grew up. They both still carry the same feeling when they meet again at a reunion, but each of them already has a partner.

About Milea: Suara dari Dilan Movie

  • Milea: Suara dari Dilan is based on the novel of the same name by Baiq and is the sequel to Dilan 1991 released in 2019.
  • The film is a spin-off, having its point of view from Dilan and displaying events uncaptured in the previous two films.
  • The poster and trailer was unveiled on 9 December 2019. Two days later, the film’s trailer reportedly became the most-viewed video in the Indonesian YouTube data. Marketing was also done on Jakarta’s trains, which was then cancelled by Iqbaal due to the guilt of making passengers uncomfortable.
  • Milea: Suara dari Dilan premiered theatrically on 13 February 2020, in correspondence with Kajeng Kliwon.
  • Reflecting from the reception of the two previous films, producer Ody Mulya Hidayat hypothesized that the film would be the first Indonesian film to reach 7 million views theatrically, meaning it would be screened in 1,000 to 1,500 theaters in its opening.
  • The film was distributed to Netflix on 13 June 2020 and premiered on SCTV on 25 August 2020.
  • The sequel, named Ancika 1995, has been officially produced by Enam Sembilan Productions since 3 April 2023. The film will be based on Pidi Baiq’s 2021 novel, Ancika: Dia Yang Bersamaku Tahun 1995.
