- Simmba is a remake of the 2015 Telugu film Temper by Puri Jagannadh. Shetty said, “We wanted to take four-five scenes from Temper but… thought it’s better to buy the rights”.

- Smashing Simmba, an animated television series based on the film, was released on 14 November 2020 on Pogo TV.
