- Dennis Quaid as Jaeger Clade, Searcher’s father, and Ethan’s grandfather who is more of a larger-than-life explorer.
- Jaboukie Young-White as Ethan Clade, Searcher’s 16-year-old son who longs for adventure beyond his father’s farm while also navigating a school crush on Diazo. Being a gay character, Ethan is Walt Disney Animation Studios’ first openly LGBTQ main character.
- Gabrielle Union as Meridian Clade, Ethan’s mother, and Searcher’s wife who is a pilot and natural leader in the Venture.

Storyline:
The feature film introduces a legendary family of explorers, the Clades, as they attempt to navigate an uncharted, treacherous land alongside a motley crew that includes a mischievous blob, a three-legged dog, and a slew of ravenous creatures.

Strange World draws inspiration from pulp magazines, Journey to the Center of the Earth (1864), Fantastic Voyage (1966), Jurassic Park (1993), and King Kong (1933).
This is the first film to use the Disney 100 logo to celebrate Walt Disney Company’s 100th anniversary in 2023. Originally, Hocus Pocus 2 and Disenchanted were supposed to debut using the Disney 100 but they were switched to the 2006/2011 logo.
This is the first film from Walt Disney Animation Studios since Zootopia (2016) to not have a post-credits scene after all the end credits have rolled.
The third Walt Disney Animation Studios film to be rated PG for action/peril and some thematic elements by the MPA, after The Black Cauldron (1985) and Frozen II (2019).
Lorne Balfe was initially supposed to score the film but they was replaced by Henry Jackman.
