- Tadka is a remake of the 2011 Malayalam film Salt N’ Pepper.
- The film was shot and completed in 2016 time frame. However, due to legal tangles and pay issues between Prakash Raj and Zee Studios, the film’s release was delayed. 6 years later, the film cleared hurdles & released directly on Zee Studio’s OTT platform, ZEE5.
- Tadka marks the debut for the following: Director Prakash Raj, who makes his directional debut in Hindi. Raj has directed several films in Tamil, Telugu and Kannada.
- Taapsee & Shriya’s voices are dubbed by other artists. Due to a lack of payment by the producers, the actresses did not complete the dubbing of the film, and thats why they sound so different in the film.
- The film ran into legal trouble over intellectual property rights and allegedly no payments have been made to the cast and crew of the film that was set to release in 2017.
- Tadka was released on ZEE5 on 4 November 2022.
