Storyline:
West Point, 1830. A world-weary detective is hired to discreetly investigate the gruesome murder of a cadet. Stymied by the cadets’ code of silence, he enlists one of their own to help unravel the case — a young man the world would come to know as Edgar Allan Poe.

About The Pale Blue Eye Movie:
The Pale Blue Eye is an American mystery thriller film written and directed by Scott Cooper.
The film is based on the 2006 novel of the same name by Louis Bayard.
The plot follows veteran detective Augustus Landor in 1830 West Point, New York, as he investigates a series of murders at the United States Military Academy with the aid of Edgar Allan Poe, a young military cadet.
Netflix acquired rights to the film for around US$55 million at the European Film Market.
Filming began on November 29, 2021, at the historic Compass Inn in Laughlintown, Pennsylvania. In December, filming took place at Westminster College in New Wilmington, Pennsylvania.
This is the third collaboration between Scott Cooper and Christian Bale following Out of the Furnace (2013) and Hostiles (2017).
According to Harry Melling, Christian Bale did not exhibit Method acting techniques during the making of the movie.
The Pale Blue Eye was released in select cinemas on December 23, 2022, before its streaming release on January 6, 2023, by Netflix. The film received mixed reviews from critics.
The film was nominated for Outstanding Supporting Visual Effects in a Photoreal Feature at the 21st Visual Effects Society Awards.
