About The Zone of Interest Movie:

The Zone of Interest is a historical drama film written and directed by Jonathan Glazer, co-produced between the United Kingdom, the United States, and Poland.

The film is loosely based on the 2014 novel of the same name by Martin Amis.

The film is a co-production between the United States, the United Kingdom, and Poland.

Director Jonathan Glazer confirmed the development of the project in 2019, with A24, Film4 Productions, Access Entertainment, and House Productions co-financing and producing.

Principal photography began in Auschwitz in the summer of 2021 and continued in Jelenia Góra in January 2022.

The entire film was shot in Poland and Germany.

Martin Amis, author of the source novel, died on May 19, 2023, the same day the film had its world premiere at the Cannes Film Festival.

This is director Jonathan Glazer’s first non-English-language film.

The Zone of Interest premiered at the 76th Cannes Film Festival in 19 May 2023 to critical acclaim, winning the Grand Prix and the FIPRESCI Prize. The film was released in the United States on 15 December 2023, and in the United Kingdom on 2 February 2024, by A24, and in Poland on 9 February 2024 by Gutek Film.

The film was named one of the top 5 international films of 2023 by the National Board of Review and was selected as the British entry for the Best International Feature Film at the 96th Academy Awards.
