Storyline

In pre-independence India, Laxman Singh Bisht is a mentally-challenged child, bullied by his friends and called “Tubelight.” His younger brother Bharat defends him, and they grow closer after the death of their parents. In 1962, during the Chinese invasion, Bharat is recruited into the Indian Army, while Laxman anxiously waits for his return. Laxman meets a magician who teaches him about faith. Bharat is captured during an escape attempt and presumed dead. Laxman befriends an Assamese woman and her son, despite initial suspicions. The ceasefire is declared, and Bharat’s supposed corpse is found. Laxman is grief-stricken but later discovers that Bharat is alive but has lost his memory. They are eventually reunited at a medical camp, giving hope for Bharat’s recovery.

About Tubelight Movie

    • Tubelight is set in the 1962 Sino-Indian War.

    • It is an adaptation of the 2015 American film Little Boy.

    • Chinese actress Zhu Zhu was finalized for the role, and she commenced shooting on 15 October 2013. Tubelight is Zhu Zhu’s debut film in Bollywood.

    • Shah Rukh Khan appears in a cameo in the film.

    • Kabir Khan obtained a no-objection certificate from the makers of the Kannada film Tubelight.

    • The first schedule of filming started in 30 December 2012 in Ladakh. The first schedule lasted for a month and was completed in April 2014.

    • Sequences were shot in Ladakh, Kashmir, and Manali, Himachal Pradesh. film Is Previously Scheduled to release on 11 April 2015 and 3 September 2016.
    • Tubelight was released on 23rd June, 2017 and was distributed by NH Studioz in India and Yash Raj Films in International. The film received mostly negative reviews from critics and audience.
