Storyline:
An update to the 1996 film ‘Twister’, which centered on a pair of storm chasers who risk their lives in an attempt to test an experimental weather alert system.
About Twisters Movie:
- Twisters is an upcoming American action, adventure, thriller film directed by Lee Isaac Chung and produced by Frank Marshall, and Patrick Crowley. The film stars Daisy Edgar-Jones, Glen Powell, and Anthony Ramos.
- It is a standalone sequel to the 1996 film Twister.
- This isn’t a sequel of the original film nor is it a remake of the original film. According to reports, the story will be entirely new and in addition, be updated to today’s methods and techniques of tornado hunting and scientific analytics.
- The film was announced in June 2020. Principal photography commenced around Oklahoma City in May 2023. Filming was to take place at Prairie Surf Studios for 40 days and in metro Oklahoma City for 50 days. Other locations included Chickasha, Okarche, El Reno, Spencer, and Cashion.
- Filming was suspended in July due to the 2023 SAG-AFTRA strike. Production resumed with the conclusion of the strike in November 2023, wrapping up the following month.
- Twisters is scheduled to be released in the United States by Universal Pictures and internationally by Warner Bros. Pictures on July 19, 2024.
