She is the daughter of actor Shakti Kapoor and Shivangi Kolhapure. Shraddha made her acting debut in the 2010 heist film Teen Patti, but it was her role in the 2011 teen drama Luv Ka The End that marked her first leading role. However, she gained widespread recognition for her performance in the romantic drama Aashiqui 2 (2013), for which she received a nomination for the Filmfare Award for Best Actress.

In October 2018, director Amar Kaushik announced plans for a sequel to Stree, but the original creators Raj and D.K. won’t be involved. Actor Rajkummar Rao confirmed the sequel in February 2022. Principal photography commenced on 10 July 2023. The first schedule was held at the same location. The second schedule commenced on November 2023 in Chanderi. Stree 2 is scheduled to be theatrically released on 30 August 2024

Chandu Champion is an upcoming Hindi sports action drama film written and directed by Kabir Khan and starring Kartik Aaryan, Shraddha Kapoor, and Katrina Kaif in the lead roles. The film is based on the extraordinary real-life story of a sportsman and his spirit of never giving up. The film was officially announced with a motion poster on 4 July 2023. Principal photography began on 12 July 2023 with a muhuratam puja held in London. The first schedule was held at the same location. The second schedule commenced on 24 September 2023 in Kashmir. Chandu Champion is scheduled to be released theatrically on 14 June 2024.
