Baby John

Baby John is an upcoming Hindi action drama film that serves as a remake of Atlee’s Tamil film Theri (2016). Co-produced by Atlee, it is written and directed by Kalees and stars Varun Dhawan in the title role, alongside Keerthy Suresh, Wamiqa Gabbi, Jackie Shroff, Sanya Malhotra (billed as a special appearance), Rajpal Yadav, and Sheeba Chaddha. In late April 2020, it was reported that Varun Dhawan was approached to play the lead role in the official Hindi remake of Theri (2016). However, it was undisclosed whether Atlee, the director of the original film, would direct the venture or give the role to someone else. In March 2022, the production for the project was reported to begin soon as Dhawan had reportedly completed his consisting commitments. According to reports, Atlee and Dhawan met again to finalize the project. On 19 March, the collaboration of both was publicly announced. Tentatively titled as VD18, instead of directing it, Atlee was revealed to produce the project under his house A for Apple Productions, along with Murad Khetani’s Cine1 Studios.

The official title Baby John was announced on 5 February 2024. Janhvi Kapoor was reported to play the lead actress role, pairing opposite Varun for the second time after Bawaal (2023). However, Keerthy Suresh was reported to have replaced the former (in her first Hindi film). Principal photography commenced with an inaugural puja ceremony, of which the video was released by the production house on 14 January 2024 – an occasion of Makar Sankranti, and first scheduled on 10 August 2023 in Mumbai. On 27 December, Dhawan, through his social media’s, revealed that the first schedule had concluded. Baby John is scheduled to be released theatrically on 31 May 2024.

Stree 2

Stree 2 is an upcoming Hindi comedy horror film directed by Amar Kaushik and written by Niren Bhatt. It is a sequel to the 2018 film Stree and the fourth installment in the Maddock Supernatural Universe. Produced by Dinesh Vijan and Aakash Ambani under the banner of Maddock Films and Jio Studios, the film stars Shraddha Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao, Pankaj Tripathi, Abhishek Banerjee, and Aparshakti Khurana. Tamannaah Bhatia and Varun Dhawan will also appear in the cameo appearance.

In October 2018, director Amar Kaushik announced plans for a sequel to Stree, but the original creators Raj and D.K. won’t be involved. Actor Rajkummar Rao confirmed the sequel in February 2022. Principal photography commenced on 10 July 2023. The first schedule was held at the same location. The second schedule commenced on November 2023 in Chanderi. Stree 2 is scheduled to be theatrically released on 30 August 2024.

Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari is an upcoming Hindi romantic comedy-drama film written and directed by Shashank Khaitan. The film stars Janhvi Kapoor, and Varun Dhawan in the lead roles. Citadel: Honey Bunny is an upcoming Indian spy action-adventure thriller TV series starring Varun Dhawan, Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Sikandar Kher, Kay Kay Menon, Saqib Saleem and Emma Canning. It is a spin-off of the American TV series Citadel (2023), created by Raj & DK and written and directed by Raj & DK and Sita R. Menon. In December 2022, Anthony Russo and Joe Russo announced the Indian spin-off of Citadel. Filming of the series began in January 2023 and ended on 13 July 2023. The series was shot in Serbia and India.
