About Karate Kid Movie:
Karate Kid is an upcoming American martial arts action film directed by Jonathan Entwistle, written by Rob Lieber, and produced by Karen Rosenfelt, Will Smith, and Jada Pinkett Smith. It’s a sequel to the 2010 film The Karate Kid.
It is the sixth film in The Karate Kid franchise and stars Jackie Chan and Ralph Macchio, both reprising their roles from previous films. The film also features Ben Wang as the main lead alongside Joshua Jackson, Sadie Stanley, Ming-Na Wen, Aramis Knight and Wyatt Oleff.
It is the first film in the series not produced by Jerry Weintraub, who died in 2015.
In September 2022, a new feature film was confirmed to be in development, with the casting of Jackie Chan and Ralph Macchio, announced in November 2023. Principal photography began in Montreal on April 1, 2024, and wrapped filming on June 3, under the working title Victory Boulevard.
Karate Kid is scheduled to be released on May 30, 2025, in the United States. The film was originally set to be released on June 7, 2024, but was delayed to December 13, 2024, due to the 2023 SAG-AFTRA strike.
