IPL 2023: JioCinema posts 6 cr unique visitors, 2.5 crore app downloads on Day 1

On the first day of the TATA IPL 2023 tournament, Viacom18’s OTT app, JioCinema, broke the record for the most-installed app in a single day with 2.5 crore downloads.

This is good news for JioCinema’s maiden IPL journey. Viacom18 announced this achievement in a statement. During the first Gujarat Titans vs Chennai Super Kings match on March 31, the app also saw 6 crore unique viewers with a peak concurrency of 1.6 crore on JioCinema.

The total match views on day one reached 50 crore. To enhance the match-viewing experience, the Reliance-owned platform had introduced several app features such as 4k streaming and multiple camera angles.

The TATA IPL 2023 tournament commenced on March 31, with the Gujarat Titans defeating the Chennai Super Kings by 5 wickets.
