About Movie:
From the World of John Wick: Ballerina is the fifth installment in the John Wick franchise, serving as a spin-off set between John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum and John Wick: Chapter 4.
Lionsgate Films acquired Shay Hatten’s action thriller Ballerina in July 2017, with the screenplay rewritten to integrate into the John Wick universe. The ballerina concept was introduced in Parabellum with Unity Phelan portraying a ballerina character.
Ana de Armas joined the project as the lead character, a ballerina turned assassin, by October 2021. Lionsgate officially announced the film in April 2022 at CinemaCon.
Principal photography began on November 7, 2022, in Prague, Czech Republic. Chad Stahelski later supervised reshoots, which included added fight scenes featuring Norman Reedus.
The first teaser premiered at CinemaCon in April 2024, unveiling the title as John Wick Presents: Ballerina. The official title, From the World of John Wick: Ballerina, was confirmed with the trailer’s release on September 26, 2024.
The film is set to release on June 6, 2025, after being delayed from June 7, 2024. Plans for a sequel with Ana de Armas reprising her role are already in development.
