Filming took place in Atlanta from August to October 2022. In March 2024, it was reported that Nicole Kidman returned to film some additional scenes with her co-stars Zac Efron and Shirley MacLaine.
A Family Affair was scheduled to be released by Netflix on November 17, 2023. However, the film’s release was postponed with a new release date yet to be set, due to the impact of the 2023 SAG-AFTRA strike in the United States on the film’s promotion.
