Storyline:

A drug deal goes wrong between two peddlers where one named David accidentally shoots other while trying to escape he notices Vijay Salgaonkar coming out of under construction police station after hiding something.Seven years later Vijay lives happily with his family, along with his cable business he also owns a cinema hall and plans to produce his own film.Mahesh Deshmukh comes to meet Vijay asking him for final remains of his son but goes distressed on the other hand IG Meera Deshmukh has still not forgiven Vijay and waits for evidence.IG Tarun Alhawat colleague of Meera is posted sometime back in Goa and tries to re investigate Sam’s case by getting suspended officer Gaitonde back on duty.Tarun and Meera lay a trap on Vijay and his family but very much far away from getting any clue.

Drishyam 2 is a remake of the 2021 Malayalam film of the same name and a sequel to the 2015 film Drishyam.

Soon after the release of the original film in February 2021, the remake came into development and was finalized within the same year.

Principal photography of the remake sequel commenced on 17 February 2022 in Mumbai and was extensively shot in Goa with Ajay Devgn and Shriya Saran. Tabu joined the sets on 26 April, and later on, Akshaye Khanna joined on 30 April.

The film was wrapped up on 21 June 2022 in Hyderabad.

Drishyam 2 was released theatrically worldwide on 18 November 2022 to positive reviews. Critics particularly praised the performances, writing, cinematography and editing. The film grossed ₹100 crore (US$13 million) within four days internationally and entered the 100 Crore Club in India within six days of release. The film eventually grossed ₹345.05 crore (US$43 million) worldwide and became a blockbuster and the 25th highest-grossing Hindi film of all time.

In November 2022, Jeethu Joseph confirmed that Drishyam 3 will happen. He said “we already have the climax of Drishyam 3, we just have to think of a story that leads to the climax”.
