Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire is an upcoming American monster science fiction action adventure film directed by Adam Wingard, from a screenplay by Terry Rossio, Simon Barrett, and Jeremy Slater. The film stars Dan Stevens, Rebecca Hall, and Brian Tyree Henry. The latter two cast members reprise their roles from the previous film.
It is a sequel to Godzilla vs. Kong (2021). The film will be the fifth film in Legendary Pictures’ MonsterVerse, the 38th film in the Godzilla franchise, the 13th film in the King Kong franchise, and the fifth Godzilla film to be completely produced by an American film studio.
Principal photography for the film began on July 29, 2022, in Gold Coast, Queensland. In November 2022, it was reported that filming had finished in Australia. Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire is scheduled to be released on March 15, 2024, by Warner Bros. Pictures.
