  • The film is a reboot of the Hellraiser franchise, the eleventh installment overall, and a second adaptation of the 1986 novella The Hellbound Heart by Clive Barker, which was adapted into the 1987 film Hellraiser.
  • Principal photography for the film began in September 2021 in Belgrade, Serbia, and wrapped in October 2021.
  • Hellraiser was released on DVD by Paramount Home Entertainment in the United Kingdom on March 27, 2023.
  • In October 2007 Alexandre Bustillo and Julien Maury confirmed they would be directing the project, with Clive Barker producing. In April 2008 Maury and Bustillo left the project.
  • It took 4 hours to apply the makeup to all of the actors playing cenobites, and around 45 minutes to an hour to remove it all.
  • Cues of composer Christopher Young’s original score from the original Hellraiser and Hellbound: Hellraiser II feature in the film.
  • Jamie Clayton could barely move while in costume as Pinhead, as it was very heavy and tight on her body.
  • This is the first Hellraiser movie to have a female Pinhead. In Clive Barker’s original novella The Hellbound Heart, Pinhead – a title Barker dislikes, preferring “Hell Priest,” which was not used before Barker’s 2015 novel The Scarlet Gospels – is described as ‘modified’ to the point that it appears sexless.
  • The film received lukewarm reviews from critics, with some deeming it an improvement over its predecessors and the best since the original 1987 film; it was praised for its new take on the series, faithfulness to the tone of the source material and Clayton’s performance, while being criticized for its rushed character development and runtime.
