Storyline:

A group of Malayali travelers were returning to Kerala by bus after their visit to Velankanni, doze off in a lazy nap. When James stops the bus in a village in Tamil Nadu, Sundaram behaves like him and confusing them. He walks amidst faith, delusion, dream, and trance.

Nanpakal Nerathu Mayakkam is a Malayalam-Tamil bilingual drama film directed by Lijo Jose Pellissery and written by S. Hareesh. The film stars Mammootty, Ramya Suvi, Ramya Pandian and Ashokan.

It was produced by Mammootty Kampany, with Amen Movie Monastery as co-producer.

At the 53rd Kerala State Film Awards, it won two awards, including Best Film (Pellissery and George Sebastian) and Best Actor (Mammootty).

On 7 November 2021, Lijo Jose Pellissery officially announced the film by sharing the title through social media.

Nanpakal Nerathu Mayakkam is the first-time collaboration between Mammootty and Lijo Jose Pellissery.

On 7 November 2021, principal photography took place in Manjanaickenpatti Village, Near Palani, Tamil Nadu. Filming was completed on 7 December 2021.

The movie premiered at the 27th International Film Festival of Kerala(IIFK) on 12 December 2022. The film received positive reviews and huge demand for the world premiere. The audience praised both Mammootty and Lijo Jose Pellissery.

Nanpakal Nerathu Mayakkam was released theatrically on January 19, 2023. The film received critical acclaim from critics and audiences. It is available for streaming on OTT platform Netflix.
