Storyline:

Based upon recently declassified files of the British War Department and inspired by true events, THE MINISTRY OF UNGENTLEMANLY WARFARE tells the story of the first-ever special forces organization formed during WWII by UK Prime Minister Winston Churchill and a small group of military officials including author Ian Fleming. The top-secret combat unit, composed of a motley crew of rogues and mavericks, goes on a daring mission against the Nazis using entirely unconventional and utterly “ungentlemanly” fighting techniques. Ultimately their audacious approach changed the course of the war and laid the foundation for the British SAS and modern Black Ops warfare.

The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare is a spy action comedy film directed, co-written and co-produced by Guy Ritchie, based on the 2014 book Churchill’s Secret Warriors: The Explosive True Story of the Special Forces Desperadoes of WWII by Damien Lewis. The film portrays a heavily fictionalized version of Operation Postmaster.

The film is based on the 2014 book Churchill’s Secret Warriors: The Explosive True Story of the Special Forces Desperadoes of WWII by Damien Lewis. In 2015 Paramount Pictures acquired the rights of the book.

This is the second collaboration between Guy Ritchie and Henry Cavill after the man from U.N. C.L.E (2015).

The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare is Guy Ritchie’s second war movie after the 2023 film ‘The Covenant’.

Filming began on February 13, 2023, in Antalya, Turkey, and ended in April 2023.

The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare premiered on April 13, 2024, in New York and was released in the United States on April 19, 2024, by Lionsgate. It is one of the highest-grossing movies of 2024.
