About Series:

The Midnight Club is an American horror mystery-thriller TV series created by Mike Flanagan and Leah Fong, with Flanagan taking on the roles of showrunner, lead writer, and executive producer. The series is set in a hospice, where eight terminally ill young adults form “the Midnight Club,” gathering each night to share eerie stories. The show weaves these tales into its overarching narrative, with many of the stories depicted on screen. While primarily based on Christopher Pike’s 1994 novel The Midnight Club, the series also draws from short stories across 27 of Pike’s other works, which are incorporated into the Midnight Club’s narratives.

The ensemble cast includes Iman Benson, Adia, Igby Rigney, Ruth Codd, Aya Furukawa, Annarah Shephard, William Chris Sumpter, and Sauriyan Sapkota as the eight members of the Midnight Club. They are joined by Heather Langenkamp, Zach Gilford, Matt Biedel, and Samantha Sloyan, who play older characters associated with the hospice. In addition to their primary roles, cast members also portray characters within the Midnight Club’s stories.

The Midnight Club debuted on Netflix on October 7, 2022. Unlike Flanagan’s previous three series, this was not a miniseries but was planned as a limited-run series spanning two seasons. However, in December 2022, Netflix canceled the series after just one season. Following the cancellation, Flanagan posted on Tumblr, where he shared his vision for the second season and resolved the unresolved plotlines.
