Adrian Pradhan

Adrian Pradhan (Nepali: एड्रियन प्रधान) is an Indo-Nepalese vocalist, composer and songwriter of Nepali music. He was born and raised in Kalimpong, West Bengal, India. He is the lead member of the Nepali rock band 1974 AD. Pradhan was the lead vocalist of the band until March 2015, after which he was replaced by Rohit John Chhetri. Pradhan reunited with the band in 2019 and has been associated with 1974 AD since.

Adrian Pradhan Early Life and Education:

Adrian Pradhan was born and raised in Kalimpong, India. He completed his schooling at St. Augustine, Kalimpong (Class 1-4), India, and Bachelor of Arts at Kalimpong Govt. College.

His musical journey started in his school days at St. Augustine, Kalimpong, when he learned to play music and was a member of the school choir. The mouth organ and keyboard were his first instruments, but he picked up the guitar in the year 1989 and then switched to drums in the year 1995.

His first band was Eurika and this was the band with which he got his first gig, in 10th grade for a fundraising concert for Blind School, Kalimpong. Then after he was involved with the band Flames which layer toured India and was also featured in Sun Magazine (Indian Edition).

Adrian Pradhan Career:

Adrian Pradhan’s first performance as a guitarist, with @sherpapasher and Eric Giri on vox. The song surprisingly was “Jati Maya“.

With 1974 AD:

Pradhan came to Kathmandu in the year 1994 and started teaching English and giving guitar lessons at Little Angels School for three years before joining Galaxy Public School. Then he meets with the 1974 AD band members and started playing with 1974 AD in 1994 as a piano player and featured permanently in the band since 1998 as a vocalist, drummer, and harmonica player.

During that time he and his band 1974 AD gives numerous songs and albums. They were able to successfully gain huge popularity in the Nepali music industry and win the hearts of millions of fans. After working with 1974 AD for a long time, he decided to leave the band in 2015 and Rohit John Chhetri filled his absence.

The Original Duo:

In 2016 Pradhan reunited once again with former 1974 AD band member Phiroj Shyangden under the name ‘The Original Duo’. They toured five states in the USA in 2016, Nepal, UK, Australia in 2017, and will extend the tour to Hong Kong, Dubai, and Abu Dhabi. In the meantime, he has sung many solo songs and most of the songs are released on his own youtube channel “Adrian Pradhan”.

1974 AD Reunion with Original Members:

After all the ups and downs on 8 July 2019, the band announced the reunion with their original lineup, Phiroj Shyangden, Adrian Pradhan, Manoj Kumar KC, Nirakar Yakthumba, and Sanjay Shrestha.

After the reunion with their original lineup, they released the 10th studio album “Nirantarta” and so many other single songs as well as recreate the old songs. All songs are available on their official youtube channel “1974 AD.” And now they are performing live concerts and shows.

Adrian and Frendz:

Besides his solo career & 1974 AD, He is also involved with the band “Adrian and Frendz”. He generally performs his songs with this band. Here is the name of the band members:

Adrian Pradhan’s relationship status is married. He is a married person. He has a beautiful wife and son.
