About Genie Movie:

Genie is an upcoming Tamil action fantasy film produced by Ishari K. Ganesh under the banner of Vels Films International. Written and directed by Bhuvanesh Arjunan, the film stars Jayam Ravi as the genie alongside Krithi Shetty, Kalyani Priyadarshan, and Wamiqa Gabbi in important roles.

The film was officially announced in March 2023 under the tentative title JR32, as it is Ravi’s 32nd film as the lead actor, and the official title was announced that July. Principal photography began the same month in Chennai.

The film’s budget is ₹100 crore (US$13 million), making it Ravi’s most expensive film, except for the Ponniyin Selvan film series.

Genie is expected to be released theatrically in 2024.
