Storyline:

Jurassic World is set 22 years after the events of Jurassic Park and takes place on the same fictional island of Isla Nublar, located off the Pacific coast of Costa Rica. In this film, a successful theme park featuring cloned dinosaurs, dubbed Jurassic World, has been operating on the island for years, fulfilling John Hammond’s original vision. The park plunges into chaos when a transgenic dinosaur escapes from its enclosure and goes on a rampage, while a conspiracy orchestrated by the park’s staff creates more dangers.

About Jurassic World Movie:

Jurassic World is an American science fiction action adventure film directed by Colin Trevorrow and produced by Frank Marshall and Patrick Crowley. It is the first installment in the Jurassic World trilogy and the fourth installment overall in the Jurassic Park film series, following Jurassic Park III (2001).

The film stars Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Vincent D’Onofrio, Ty Simpkins, Nick Robinson, Omar Sy, BD Wong, and Irrfan Khan. BD Wong reprised his role from the original Jurassic Park film.

Universal Pictures planned to start production on a fourth Jurassic Park film in 2004, aiming for a mid-2005 release. However, the project fell into development hell as the script underwent numerous revisions.

Following a suggestion from executive producer Steven Spielberg, writers Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver explored the concept of a fully operational dinosaur park, which eventually led to the creation of Jurassic World. Once Colin Trevorrow was hired as director in 2013, he continued to develop the idea of a fully operational dinosaur park, collaborating with Derek Connolly on a new script. The original title was “Jurassic Park: Extinction”.

Filming for Jurassic World began on April 10, 2014, in Hawaii, with locations including the islands of Kauai and Oahu. It concluded on August 5, 2014. The dinosaurs were created using CGI by Lucasfilm’s Industrial Light & Magic and life-sized animatronics by Legacy Effects. Production wrapped up in May 2015.

Jurassic World was filmed under the secret working title “Ebb Tide,” chosen by executive producer Steven Spielberg before director Colin Trevorrow joined the project. The reason for this title remained unknown to those on set.

During early development, Harrison Ford was slated to star in Jurassic World but withdrew due to concerns over the quality of Indiana Jones and The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (2008) and other reasons. Kristen Stewart was also considered for the role of Claire Dearing but was deemed too young.

The first official pictures of the Jurassic World film set were released in April 2014. A teaser trailer was released online on November 23, 2014, followed by the first full trailer two days later.

Jurassic World was theatrically released in the United States on June 12, 2015, by Universal Pictures. It was praised by critics, with many considering it to be the best Jurassic Park sequel.

Jurassic World grossed $1.6 billion worldwide, becoming the second-highest-grossing film of 2015, the third-highest-grossing film of all time at the moment of its release, the highest-grossing in the Jurassic Park series and the highest-grossing film released by Universal.

Jurassic World was released by Universal Pictures Home Entertainment on DVD, Blu-ray, and Blu-ray 3D on October 20, 2015. It sold nearly three million units in its first week, becoming the highest-selling home entertainment live-action film for Universal and of 2015, collecting $82.6 million across all formats in its first week.

Jurassic World is the third film in the Jurassic Park series to end with a shot of a roaring dinosaur. The first instance was in The Lost World: Jurassic Park (1997), showing dinosaurs on Isla Sorna, and the second was in Jurassic Park III (2001), featuring pteranodons flying away.

Two sequels have been released: Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom (2018) and Jurassic World Dominion (2022). An untitled Jurassic World film is scheduled for release in 2025.
