About Vaa Vaathiyaar Movie:

Vaa Vaathiyaar is an upcoming Tamil action comedy film starring Karthi and Krithi Shetty in the lead roles. It was written and directed by Nalan Kumarasamy and produced by K. E. Gnanavel Raja under the banner of Studio Green.

The music and background score is composed by Santhosh Narayanan, in his third collaboration with Nalan Kumarasamy after Soodhu Kavvum (2013) and Kadhalum Kadandhu Pogum (2016); third with Karthi after Madras (2014) and Kaashmora (2016).

The film was officially announced in October 2023. Principal photography commenced on 27 March 2023, with the first schedule in Chennai.

Initially, in mid-July 2020, Vijay Sethupathi was set to star in the project. However, by mid-February 2021, Arya took on the lead role. Filming was expected to start after Arya wrapped up “Enemy” (2021). Meanwhile, Kumarasamy continued working on the script. Although there were earlier reports of a November start, they were dismissed due to a lack of updates until January 2023, when Karthi was announced as the new lead.

Vaa Vaathiyaar is expected to be released in 2024. The post-theatrical streaming rights of the film were acquired by Amazon Prime Video.
