Jeewan Gurung is a Nepalese songwriter, composer, and lead vocalist of one of the most popular Nepalese bands “The Edge Band.” The Edge Band was formed in the year 1998 and officially entered the Nepali Music Industry in the year 2000.

Jeewan is one of the most liked, most searched, and one of the high noted singers in the Nepali music industry. He sang more than hundreds of songs and most of them are blockbusters. Jeewan and his band have released many albums, won many awards, and have done many national and international concerts.

He has helped bring Nepali music to another level. The words of the song, the melody in it, and his voice have always succeeded in reaching millions of fans and well-wishers.

Jeewan Gurung Early Life and Education:

Jeewan Gurung was born in 1984, in Pokhara, a beautiful city in Nepal. He had a magnificent voice and attachment to music since his childhood but his family background is not music.

There were many challenges and difficulties for him because he was very young and he had no idea about music. There were no musical gadgets and instruments available to practice. But he knew that struggle was a part of life. He worked hard and focused on his career.

Jeewan Gurung’s parents were always there to support his interests and aspirations. One memorable day, his father gifted him a walkman and a cassette tape, igniting Jeewan’s passion for music even further. With these simple yet meaningful gifts, he found inspiration and ideas that helped him develop his musical skills. Grateful for his father’s encouragement and belief in him, Jeewan often reflects, “My father is my greatest inspiration.”

Jeewan Gurung Career:

Since childhood, Jeewan Gurung has harbored a deep curiosity for listening to and singing songs. His passion led him to an unexpected opportunity when his brother invited him to join a band at the tender age of 16. Despite his limited knowledge of music, Jeewan’s enchanting voice quickly captured the attention of those around him. Soon, he became the frontman of the band, supported wholeheartedly by his family. His parents generously covered the band’s expenses, including providing meals at times. In an interview, Jeewan expressed gratitude for his family’s unwavering support, recalling moments when even their food was graciously paid for by his parents.

In 2000, Jeewan Gurung’s band debuted with their first album featuring the hit single “Mero Aasu.” The song quickly garnered acclaim from Nepali music enthusiasts, marking a pivotal moment in Jeewan’s musical journey. Despite facing challenges when some original band members departed due to personal reasons, Jeewan persevered and formed a new band.

In 2006, the band released their second album titled “Vibes with Bajra,” featuring tracks like “Thaha Chaina,” “Kasailai Pani Ma,” and “Jiuna Lai Garo Bho.” Their repertoire expanded to include captivating songs such as “Samjhine Mutu,” “YoDil Mero,” and “Nachaheko Hoina Timilai,” showcasing their versatility in Nepali pop music.

Jeewan’s resilience and dedication serve as inspiration, proving that age is no barrier to becoming a skilled singer. He emphasizes the importance of daily practice and self-belief, virtues that have propelled him to perform at various national and international live shows across the globe, including the UK, USA, Hong Kong, and Dubai.

Currently, Jeewan and his band are immersed in creating a new album while frequently delighting audiences with live performances, including at their own establishment, Fuel Bar & Grill, situated in Pokhara’s Lakeside area, where Jeewan holds the position of co-founder.

Jeewan Gurung tied the knot with Srijana Gurung in 2011, embarking on a journey of marital bliss. Their union has been blessed with a child named Ivan Gurung, completing their loving family.
